Me Made May: Days 1-6

As promised, here's my recap of the first six days of Me Made May.

Overall I've met my goal of one item per day, though I cheated a little on day 4.  It seems that I'm having the same problem as other bloggers in that I have more items better suited for casual, summer days.  I thought since Self-Stitched September last year that I would have made enough fillers for my wardrobe, but I'm still lacking enough variety for work or for super casual days.  If I can achieve one of my goals for 2012 - working with knits - I think I can definitely fulfill the latter.  And I'm definitely more conscious about making more items that I can wear for work.  So, it's a work in progress.

Anyways, on to the recap!

Day 1
What I Wore: Peter Pan Polka Dots Blouse (Banksia)
What I Did: Went into the office

Day 2
What I Wore: Jasmine Blouse and my Remnant Skirt
What I Did: Again, the office.  Working hard for the money.

Day 3
What I Wore: Tree of Life Dress
What I Did: Work, work, work

Day 4
What I Wore: Chirality Scarf. See what I mean about cheating? But I did make it!
What I Did: Worked from home in the day, then went to the Snow Patrol concert in the evening. Woohoo!  It was a beautiful day but a little chilly, so the perfect weather for the scarf.

Day 5
What I Did: I convinced the majority of our adult Irish dance class to take a standup paddle board lesson.  We went to Santa Cruz and had a great time paddling around the harbor.  Afterwards we came back to our house for a little BBQ and some margaritas.  I got dressed up in this outfit that I made last summer.

Day 6
What I Wore: My Colette Sorbetto blouse with some jeans
What I Did:  I needed something really casual to wear as we went to visit some farm animals that my friends' daughter is raising.  In particular I wanted to play with her little black lamb.  She got him all situated in my lap for a nice belly scratch.  I think Wallace may need to get ready for a new sibling. I'm in love.

Now, on to week 2!

  1. I've enjoyed seeing many MMM weekly recaps today. You've been sewing so much this year, it's hard to imagine you having any holes in your wardrobe! Also, if you're free on Wednesday, I wanted to let you know that a group of sewing enthusiasts/bloggers are gathering in the city on Wednesday to meet Karen of Didyoumakethat. I hope you can make it! 4. All your outfits look great but I love #3,4,5 and 6. I like the bright colours and the waistband in number 5 . It is really flattering on you! I am amazed that you sew so much. The lambs are adorable too.
